Midsummer Festival returns to Hoddesdon

Hoddesdon’s biennial Midsummer Festival returns for its second edition, with two weeks of activities, shows, sport, and attractions for all ages.

The festival follows the outstanding success of the first edition in 2024, with organisers Love Hoddesdon promising another exciting programme of events this year.

From Sunday 14 June to Sunday 28 June, organisations and groups across Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, and beyond will showcase the very best that the local community has to offer.

Highlights of the festival will include the Friends of Barclay Park’s dog show, Hoddesdon Cricket Club’s cricket and soft ball matches, and Lowewood Museum’s 1.3km walking heritage tour exploring Hoddesdon’s rich history.

On Saturday 20 June, the Hoddesdon outdoor cinema will return to the High Street, with family-friendly films on throughout the day. Moana 2 will kick things off at 11.15am, with The Goonies at 1.30pm, before finishing with Grease at 4pm. Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs, blankets, and food to make the most out of the day.

The festival’s main event will come with the Gala Day on Sunday 28 June. Street entertainment, exhibits, community and trade stalls, festival food, and live music will all be on offer from 10am to 8pm in the evening.

For children, a carousel, big wheel and dodgems will be on site throughout the day, with opportunities to meet the Love Hoddesdon mascot, Master Henry Hoddas.

The festival is a chance for people who live in or near Hoddesdon to celebrate the community, its proud heritage and the people, groups and organisations that help keep it thriving every day.
