New affordable family homes built in Cheshunt

Four new affordable family homes have officially opened as part of Phase 3 at Blossom Gardens in Cheshunt, transforming a former horticultural site into safe, sustainable housing for local people.

The homes are part of a 26 affordable scheme which includes both affordable rent and part-rent, part-buy homes offered through the shared ownership scheme.

Delivered by local social landlord, B3Living, the development offers a more accessible route into home ownership, with prices for a 30% share ranging from £166,000 to £172,500.

Previously occupied by glasshouses, industrial buildings and a workers’ bungalow, the site has been carefully redeveloped to create high‑quality housing that meets identified local need.

The spacious homes include private outdoor spaces and have been designed with both comfort and sustainability in mind. Features include air source heat pump heating systems, an EPC rating of B, electric vehicle charging points, and private driveways and allocated parking.

Waiting lists for family homes in Broxbourne exceed 23 years and average prices in the Borough for semi-detached homes are over £500,000. B3Living worked closely with housing and planning teams at Broxbourne Council to shape the scheme, identifying a strong demand for family housing and ensuring the design reflects local priorities and meets housing needs.

Councillor Dee Hart, Cabinet Member for Community and Housing, said:

I’m delighted to see these new homes at Blossom Gardens completed, providing high‑quality family housing for our residents.

Developments like this play an important role in meeting local need and creating sustainable communities for the future.

B3Living’s Executive Director (Development), Jon Hayden, added:

We’re pleased to continue our partnership with Broxbourne Council through the delivery of these new homes at the former Limes Nursery.

These properties have been designed to support modern family living, while also helping customers take their first step onto the housing ladder through shared ownership.

Our aim is to start building 400 new homes by 2027, and we remain committed to delivering homes that meet the needs of our communities.
