New national lockdown measures were announced on Saturday 31 October.
This means all hospitality, personal care, non-essential retail, indoor and outdoor leisure facilities and entertainment venues must close from Thursday 5 November for a period of four weeks.
Consequently, the Council’s leisure facilities, including the Laura Trott Leisure Centre, the John Warner Sports Centre and the Cheshunt Park Golf Centre will close on Thursday 5 November until at least Wednesday 2 December.
Direct Debits were processed prior to the announcement being made, which the Council had no prior knowledge of. This resulted in Direct Debits for leisure centre and Swim School memberships being automatically deducted from bank accounts on Monday 1 November, which could not be recalled.
To offset this, no payments will be taken in the first month that the facilities reopen.
