What to do
If you put pressurised or sealed gas cylinders in with your normal waste, they can explode during the rubbish sorting process and put workers lives at risk.
Make sure you check the Hertfordshire County Council website for the best way to dispose of specific types of containers - including gas cylinders, helium cannisters, soda streams and Calor gas bottles.
Most gas cylinders can be disposed of by contacting the original supplier, or by taking them to your local Recycling Centre.
