Council Tax appeals

Appeal your Council Tax decision

If you have applied for an exemption, discount or reduction in Council Tax and you are not satisfied with the outcome, you have the right to appeal.  Appeals must be made in writing to the Council.

If you are not satisfied with the Council's decision, or the Council has failed to notify you of its decision within two months, you have the right to appeal to the Valuation Tribunal.  You must appeal within two months of receiving a decision from the Council.

You must continue to pay your Council Tax while you are waiting for the outcome of the appeal.
