After the collection

Once the street or house to house collection has been made:

  • collecting boxes should be opened in the presence of the promoter and witness, or given to a bank to be opened and counted
  • the contents of each box should be entered on a list and certified by those present
  • a financial return must be made to the Council within three months
  • at least 85% of the monies collected must be donated to the charity, with a maximum of only 15% allowed towards expenses which must be verified by the promoter and auditor

The permit and any collecting badges must be destroyed at the end of the collection. No promoter, or associate, can receive payment from the collection without specific approval from the Council.
