Renew vehicle
Vehicle licences are renewed annually. We require your completed application form and any relevant documentation at least five working days before your licence expires.
Documents required:
- completed application form - £160 for a vehicle under 7 years at the time of renewal. £200 for a vehicle older than 7 years. Print, sign and return via email – if you are not able to print the form, you can complete the form on-line, save as a document and email to taxi@broxbourne.gov.uk. You will then be required to sign the form upon collection of your licence/plate
- current MOT (legislation requires that hackney carriage licensed vehicles have an MOT once they are 12 months old)
- valid insurance certificate
- certificate of compliance
The cost to renew wheelchair accessible vehicles under seven years is £80, and for wheelchair accessible vehicles over seven years the cost is £100.
If we already hold a current MOT, Compliance or insurance certificate for your vehicle then you do not need to provide again with your renewal.
Forms
You must hold a current Broxbourne Hackney Carriage Driver Licence to be permitted to drive a Broxbourne licensed hackney carriage vehicle.
You must hold a current Broxbourne Private Hire Driver Licence in order to drive a Broxbourne licensed private hire vehicle.
Anyone who is not a Broxbourne licensed driver is not permitted to drive a Broxbourne licensed vehicle at any time, even if they are the licensed driver’s partner/family - unless it is being road tested by a mechanic (with the vehicle having undergone repairs).
