Fees
The fee for a new house in multiple occupancy (HMO) licence or a renewed HMO licence is:
- £1,650 per property
- £150 for each bedroom over 5 bedrooms
You will pay £825 when you submit the third part of the application. When officers have completed and approved the first series of reviews, you will be prompted to make the second £825 payment, along with any applicable additional bedroom fee.
It is usually valid for 5 years. If you have more than one HMO you will need a separate licence for each. Licences may be granted for shorter periods where there are concerns over the management arrangements or where there have been avoidable delays in making an effective licence application.
