Informal advice (Duty Planner)
Please note: All planning appointments are held via telephone.
If you have a planning query you would like to discuss with the Council, you can book a free telephone appointment through our Duty Planner service by completing the form below.
This service is designed to offer informal planning advice to householders and small businesses on straightforward planning matters. This service does not provide project-specific advice or assess the likelihood of your proposal being approved. During your appointment, the Council can explain:
- The planning process
- Advise you on documents and information you will need to submit with your application
Please note:
- For detailed or site-specific advice, please use our Formal Pre-Application Advice Service.
- This service is not intended for professional planning consultants or large-scale developments. Developers and planning professionals should use the Formal Pre-Application Advice Service instead.
Planning Officers will not be able to provide:
- specific information on submitted applications
- answers to queries on ongoing enforcement cases
- a written statement from the Council
- a guarantee of the outcome of your application
Duty Planner appointments are available:
- Monday and Thursday
- from 9am to 1pm
- in 10 minute slots
Please book up to two weeks in advance.
You can also amend or cancel your appointment through this online service.
