Garden (green) waste recycling

Subscribe to the green waste collection service

Most houses and flats with their own individual gardens can subscribe to the green waste collection service. There is an annual fee. The Council will supply you with a green 240-litre wheeled bin which will be collected every two weeks, except for once over the Christmas holiday period.

The subscription lasts from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023.

The charge is:

  • £42 for a Direct Debit subscription
  • £48 for payment by debit or credit card.

The easiest way to subscribe to the Green Waste collection service is to use the online form immediately below.

After payment has been received, you will receive a sticker in the post that you must attach to your green bin. Only bins with this sticker on will be collected.

You should contact the Council if you need additional green bins.

Green waste bins should be put out for collection on the property boundary (or other agreed collection point) no earlier than 7.30pm on the evening before the collection day, and no later than 7am on the morning of collection.

Renewing your 2022/23 subscription

If you have subscribed to green waste collections by Direct Debit, there is nothing you need to do to renew your 2022/23 subscription. The 2022/23 subscription will be automatically taken from your bank account. You will receive a renewal letter from the Council explaining when the annual Direct Debit payment will be collected.

However, if you made a one-off debit or credit card payment for 2021/22, you need to resubscribe and pay for the 2022/23 green waste service.
