Rough sleepers
The Council's housing service has a dedicated rough sleeper team, who will visit individuals who are sleeping rough in the Borough.
When they visit the individual they will speak with them to understand their circumstances and aim to provide support to find them secure accommodation.
What can I do to help people sleeping on the streets?
If you are concerned about someone sleeping rough, you can make sure they are known to support services by reporting it on the Street Link website. They will contact the Rough Sleeping Outreach Team in Broxbourne, who will provide them with the help they need.
When filling in the report please provide as much information as possible about the rough sleeper such as:
- Where they were spotted: area, specific location, if they are hidden from main road/pathway
- Description: clothing, their appearance, any items they have with them
- If you have spoken with them any relevant information they said
