Self-build and custom housebuilding

What happens next?

It usually takes 28 days for the Council to consider an application. The Council will let you know the outcome of your application by email.

When a self-build plot becomes available the Council will notify everyone on the register, but will give people who have a local connection the information first. After receiving the notification, people on the self-build register will be able to submit a bid to the developer or landowner for the purchase of the plot.

Please note that entry to the self-build and custom housebuilding register does not guarantee that a suitable plot will become available.
