Services provided by the District and the County Council
The area of Broxbourne, as with the rest of Hertfordshire, has a two-tiered Council system. Some services are provided County-wide by Hertfordshire County Council, while others are provided on a more localised level by Broxbourne Borough Council.
If you are not sure which Council is best placed to help with your enquiry, hopefully the following information pages can provide clarity and guidance.
Broxbourne Council's main services include:
- Bins and recycling, including garden, bulky and clinical waste collections
- Business support for the Borough, as well as rates payments, business licences and food hygeine assessments
- Cemeteries and funerals, with advice for residents and funeral directors
- Council Tax payments, Council tax support and Housing Benefit
- Community advice, including venues, events, support available and some grant funding
- Community safety, such as reports of anti-social behaviour, and advice with regards to domestic abuse, mental health support and substance misuse
- Environment, including reporting noise and environmental nuisances, fly-tipping and abandoned vehicles, and the management of parks, pitches and open spaces
- Housing advice, with help for people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless, how to join the Housing Register, temporary accomodation and social housing
- Parking services such as reporting parking offences, paying a PCN, applying for a dropped kerb or a parking permit, and information on Council-owned car parks
- Planning information and guidance, requests for advice, and submitting and viewing planning applications
