Education and schools
All services relating to education and schools are managed by Hertfordshire County Council.
This includes school admissions, free school meals, school transport and adult learning. You will also need to go to the HCC website for information like term dates, emergency school closures, jobs in schools, school governors, and even comparing schools performance and Ofsted ratings.
Childcare and family centres, also known as Children and family hubs, are provided as part of the Hertfordshire Early Years service - this includes details of childcare providers and Early Years professionals.
On the County Council website you will also find advice around Home Education, including what you'll need to do, support before you take the option, and support once you are doing home education.
There is other guidance available for if you are leaving school including jobs, apprenticeships and courses, and adult learning courses.
